Porcupine / Zebra Grass
'Strictus'
Miscanthus sinensis 'Strictus'
Porcupine Grass is a remarkable plant that adds a bold vertical accent to any garden or landscape. Its stately columnar form makes it a perfect fit for both small and large spaces. With its arching blades that don't flop and bold yellow horizontal stripes, Porcupine Grass is a unique variation of the popular Zebra Grass. In mid to late summer, the plant produces tassel-like wands of pinkish-bronze plumes that open to fluffy silver-buff plumes. These plumes are perfect for cutting and using in dried flower arrangements, and they persist through fall and well into winter. Porcupine Grass is also an excellent choice for container gardening.
