Need to plant a new lawn or reseed your existing lawn?
Here at Nolt's we are ready to help you achieve your dreams!
3 steps to starting your beautiful green lawn.
Step #1 - Prepare Your Soil
Our screened topsoil is perfect for getting a level yard. It is free of rocks or roots and is easy to rake. It also has 20% compost in it to keep it loose.
If you have enough of topsoil, and want a good fertilizer, we would recommend spreading our organic compost over your soil and work it in to the dirt. This will add nutrients to the soil and keep it loose.
Step #2 - Spread the Grass Seed
Overtime

grass seed.

Overseeding: 1lb. per 300 Sq. Ft.
Jonathan Green
Keystone
Sun: 3hr. of sun to full sun
Just like Overtime, but with
Rye and Blue Grass added.
Stripes well, and does well for irrigated lawns.
Seeding Rates:
New Lawn: 1lb. per 200 Sq. Ft.
Overseeding: 1lb. per 400 Sq. Ft.
Step #3 - Cover the seed.
Covering the seed is very important! This helps to keep moisture there.
By covering the seed, you get much better germination of the seed.
Straw TackSak
This is chopped straw in a bag. It is important to used chopped straw because long/thick straw can choke out newly planted grass. Straw Tack Sak also has a little bit of tack with it. When it's watered the first time, it will stick together to keep the straw from blowing around the neighborhood.
Coverage:
1 bag of Straw Tack Sak will cover 500 sq. ft.
Straw Bales
This straw is really good for holding moisture and helps your grass can germinate. Although a regular straw bale like this tends to be more long and thick, and could sooner choke out the new seed, unlike the Tack Sak.
Straw Max
