Product Description

Purple Fountain Beech Tree (Fagus sylvatica)

Purple Fountain Beech Tree is a slow-growing, narrow, upright tree. It has a cascading, weeping habit, but does not require staking. Its leaves emerge a wine-red in the spring, deepen to a rich purple in summer, and transition to a bronze in autumn. Plant Purple Fountain in full sun for the darkest leaf color. As it matures, it looks much like a purple fountain, true to its name.

Beech Trees

Beech Trees are majestic, slow-growing trees. They thrive in partial shade, as direct, hot afternoon sun can scorch their delicate leaves. They prefer rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil and do not tolerate clay soils. Beech Trees have uniquely smooth, thin, steel-gray bark and keep this beautifully textured bark even in later years of their lives. In the fall they drop beechnuts, which squirrels and other wildlife love. Beech Trees also make excellent shade canopies.

About Trees from Nolt’s Garden Center

We specialize in top quality trees for sale at our plant nursery in Lebanon PA. Our tree nursery has a huge selection of ornamental, flowering, & shade trees. Most of our trees are grown in potting soil which makes them lighter and easier to plant than trees that are grown in a field and dug. Our trees also start growing faster since their roots are not damaged by the digging.
