Red Dragon Weeping Japanese Maple Tree (Acer palmatum var. dissectum ‘Red Dragon’)

Red Dragon Weeping Japanese Maple Tree is a mounding, cascading, ornamental Maple. It is a slow-growing, dwarf version of the upright Maples. Its deeply cut, feathery, fern-like foliage emerges in bright cherry-red color in the spring. It keeps its burgundy-maroon color all summer and adds some crimson in the fall. The cascading canopy Red Dragon creates, looks much like an umbrella. 

Weeping Japanese Maple Trees

Weeping Japanese Maple Trees are slow-growing ornamental trees. They are prized for their lovely seasonal colors. They prefer partial shade to protect them from the hot afternoon sun, as too much sun can scorch their leaves. Japanese Maples love well-drained and slightly acidic soil. Prune in mid winter while the tree is dormant, to prevent excessive sap loss. Weeping Japanese Maples with their cascading mound make stunning focal points in landscapes.
