Red Gold Nectarine Tree is known for producing large, freestone fruit. This fruit is firm with a ruby-red skin. Inside, this fruit is juicy and golden fleshed a combination of sweet and tart. Red Gold is excellent for fresh eating, baking, and canning. In the spring fragrant pink blossoms emerge, followed by the fruit in mid August. In the fall Red Gold’s foliage transitions into a vibrant yellow.
Nectarines are closely related to Peaches. They have a smooth skin which is fuzz-free. Their flesh is usually more firm than peaches as well. Nectarines are highly productive as self-pollinating, although planting two different varieties significantly boosts harvest yields. They require full sun and love well-drained soil.
