Double Play Big Bang®

Double Play Big Bang® Spirea’s foliage emerges orange-red in the spring, transitions to bright yellow in the summer, and returns to orange-red in the fall. It is super easy-to-grow and durable in the summer heat. Big Bang® has massive clusters of pink flowers, which are said to be the biggest flowers of any Japanese Spirea that bloom all summer long! Big Bang® flowers have a long vase life, so add them to your fresh cut arrangements!

Spirea (spiraea) Double Play® Series are known for vibrant foliage and continuous flowering all summer. These shrubs maintain a nice, neat, compact shape without pruning, although you can take the old flower heads off if desired. We recommend fertilizing with Plant-tone in the spring. Spirea prefer full sun to partial sun and well-drained soil. They are extremely hardy and cold tolerant, making them an excellent go-to for gardens. Spirea look best planted along borders, as a specimen in your garden, or in a container.
