Puffer Fish® Hydrangea is similar to, but larger and more puffed up than Bobo®. Its fluffy, clustered blooms emerge white, engulfing the entire plant. These blooms age to a lime green, but for a surprise a new sprig of white emerges from the tip of the panicle! As Puffer Fish® reblooms throughout the summer, you’ll see these colors mix to create an awesome show. It also has a compact habit and strong stems. Puffer Fish® flowers are excellent for fresh or dried flower arrangements.
Hydrangeas (paniculata) are known for blooming on new wood every year which makes them reliable bloomers. They are also extremely hardy and cold tolerant, making them an excellent choice for gardens. Hydrangeas prefer a full to part sun. Adaptable to many soils, moderate moisture is required. Hydrangeas look best planted along borders, mass plantings, or in containers. Prune the whole plant back by about one-third its total height each spring, just as the new growth begins to emerge on stems.
