Blue Jean Baby Russian Sage is known as an aromatic perennial. Its fine, silver-gray leaves are very fragrant with a sage-like scent. Blue Jean Baby is one of the earliest varieties to bloom. Smoky purple panicles of lavender-blue flowers appear in mid summer keeping their blue color well into the fall. Blue Jean Baby is very hardy and drought-tolerant, but needs well-drained soil to thrive.
Russian Sage (Perovskia) is a perfect perennial for hot, dry climates. Because of its compact, non-flopping habit, it needs very little attention throughout the growing season. Its airy texture and silvery foliage will bring contrast to your garden. With its love for the summer heat Russian Sage is a little slower to emerge in the spring, but it will provide you with long-lasting color from summer into the fall.
