Tulip Poplar Tree (Liriodendron tulipifera)

Tulip Poplar Tree is one of the tallest, fastest growing, eastern hardwoods. It is a beautiful shade tree, native to Eastern US. It is one of the trees that gives the Appalachian Mountains their beautiful yellow/golden fall color. Along with this stunning fall color, our new variety of Tulip Poplar has a very symmetrical structure. It has a long straight trunk and a narrow crown. Tulip Poplar is easy-to-grow and is a long-lived tree.

Tulip Poplar are not to be confused with the hybrid poplar tree. Tulip Poplar have a harder wood and are much longer lived. They feature uniquely-shaped leaves and greenish-orange tulip-shaped flowers. They are easy-to-grow and have potential to become a massive shade tree. Tulip Poplar thrive in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil.
