Product Description

Chinese Kousa Clump Dogwood Tree (Cornus kousa chinensis)

Chinese Kousa Clump Dogwood Tree is a cultivar that is highly resistant to dogwood anthracnose and powdery mildew. It is known for its vase-shaped form and its multi-stemmed or clump trunk. In late spring Chinese Kousa Clump has distinct, white pointed bracts above its dark green foliage. In late summer this tree produces red raspberry-like fruit, which are very attractive to birds. In the fall its foliage turns vibrant shades of red and purple. Chinese Kousa Clump is a prized specimen in your yard or planted close to a patio!

Kousa Dogwood Trees

There is a difference between Kousa Dogwood and Dogwood. Kousa produce leaves first and then bracts, but Dogwood produce flowers first and then leaves. Kousa have vibrant fall foliage as well. They tolerate full sun, but love partial or dappled shade. They thrive in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. They require consistent moisture and are not drought-tolerant. If you need to prune them, do so immediately after flowering. Kousa are compact trees, looking their best near patios or entries and at the edge of woodland areas.

Our trees also start growing faster since their roots are not damaged by the digging.
