Product Description

Cherokee Brave Dogwood Tree (Cornus florida)

Cherokee Brave Dogwood Tree is proven to be one of the most vigorous of the red dogwoods. This cultivar is known for improved resistance to powdery mildew and spot anthracnose, which often affect other dogwoods. Cherokee Brave is prized for its deep red to pink flowers white centers in early spring. After these flowers, new foliage emerges burgundy in the spring, transitioning to green in the summer, and maturing to shades of reddish-maroon in the fall.  Cherokee Brave is lovely as a specimen or in a woodland garden.

Dogwood Trees

Dogwood are popular, ornamental trees featuring stunning spring bracts. They have vibrant fall foliage as well. Preferring partial shade, they can also thrive in sun-dappled woodland areas. Dogwood thrive in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. They require consistent moisture and are not drought-tolerant. If you need to prune them, do so immediately after flowering. Dogwood are compact trees, looking their best near patios or entries and at the edge of woodland areas.
