Ostrich Fern is one of the largest and most popular ferns. The dark green fronds are shaped like ostrich plumes, being much wider at the top and tapering down to a small stem. These gracefully arching leaves turn a shiny bronze-gold in fall. Ostrich Fern needs plenty of space to grow. It spreads rapidly by underground runners extending out in all directions, quickly forming into colonies. Ostrich Fern is native to North America.
