Little Redhead Spigelia features rich red tubular flowers with yellow interiors. Hummingbirds are wildly in love with these flowers which appear in the spring and continue through summer. Little Redhead’s flowers sit at the top of an upright clump of glossy, dark green, wedge-shaped leaves. Little Redhead is hardy and easy-to-grow. It prefers rich, moist, and well-drained soil.
Spigelia are fast growers and are known for having a long bloom time. They are easy-to-grow and are rarely disturbed by pests or diseases. Preferring rich, moist soil, Spigelia are very versatile growing in sun or shade. This perennial can often be found growing wild in woodlands or along streams of the Eastern United States.
