Product Description

Granny Smith Apple Tree (Malus domestica)

Granny Smith Apple is unique for its bright green color and sharp, tart acidic flavor. Its a crisp, firm apple, great for pies because they hold their shape. When sliced they hold their color well, and do not turn brown fast. Granny Smith Apples are often available in stores all season because of their long-lasting storage capabilities. These apples usually ripen between August and October. Granny Smith Apple Trees need full sun and well-drained soil.

Apple Trees

Apple Trees produce lovely blossoms in the spring. In early summer the fruit needs thinned down to one or two apples per cluster, to prevent the tree from breaking. This will produce larger, high quality fruit. Most Apple Trees require cross-pollination. Plant another variety, with the same bloom time, about 50-100 feet away. Prune them in late winter once a year. Apple Trees need full sun to maximize their fruit sweetness and color. Apples are also a natural source of antioxidants.

We specialize in top quality trees for sale at our plant nursery in Lebanon PA. Our tree nursery has a huge selection of ornamental, flowering, & shade trees. Our trees also start growing faster since their roots are not damaged by the digging.
