Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus)

Eastern White Pine is the largest conifer tree in the northeast. This tree is native to eastern North America. The blue-green needles of this tree are soft, flexible, and arranged in clusters of five. The slender, cylindrical cones are also unique, featuring white resin on their scales. Every fall they shed their needles. Eastern White Pine has a rapid growth rate, shaping into a graceful, pyramidal shape. It makes an excellent windbreak or shade tree and can grow in wet or dry areas! 

 

Pine Tree

Pine (Pinus) are evergreen conifers distinquished by their needle-like leaves. Their needle-like foliage grows in clusters of two-five, producing seed-bearing cones. Pine are known for their resilience and ability to thrive in poor soils. These trees are also valued for their year-round color. Pine look stately planted in landscapes, as a specimen, or as a privacy screen.
