Leadwort Plumbago

Leadwort Plumbago produces cobalt blue, tiny, star-shaped flowers. It begins flowering in the late summer, after other groundcover are finished flowering and flowers all the way into late fall. Leadwort has green foliage in the summer, but it changes to bronzy-red in the fall. Leadwort thrives in partial sun and well-drained soils.

 

Plumbago Perennial

Plumbago (Ceratostigma plumbaginoides) shows its color after other groundcovers are finished flowering. Its an excellent, slow-spreading, groundcover forming into a dense mat. Plumbago grows well in partial sun and well-drained soil. It looks beautiful rambling over rocks or as an underplanting to shrubs or large perennials.
