Each flower is star-shaped and appears bell-like. It starts flowering late spring and flowers all summer. Sentimental Blue’s fine-textured, dark green leaves form into a compact mound that is also pest and disease free.
Balloon Flowers (Platycodon) have puffy, inflated-looking, balloon-like buds true to their name. These buds open into star-like flowers. Balloon Flowers are very prolific bloomers. Removing spent flowers throughout the season encourages more blooms. They love well-drained soil and lots of sun. Balloon Flowers are lovely planted in masses, rock gardens, or containers.
