Goldsturm Black-eyed Susan has been favorite perennial since it won Perennial Plant of the Year in 1999. Cheery daisy-like golden flowers cover the Goldsturm plants in late Summer. When you need some size & color, try Goldsturm. It is very hardy and easy-to-grow. The plants will grow 30″ tall. In the Fall, trim back all the black foliage to 2″ high.
Black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia) are a native perennial that grows wild in throughout US. The Black-eyed Susan get their name from mounds of Golden flowers with a black “eye” in the center that they produce in late Summer. The plants of today are shorter and better branched compared to their wild cousins.
