Winterthur Viburnum needs a pollinator to produce spicy-scented, white flowers in the spring. In the summer red berries appear, changing to neon blue, and then maturing to black in the fall. Winterthur has glossy, dark green leaves that change to maroon-red in the fall. If you want to prune this bush, do so after its finished flowering. Give it full sun and well-drained soil to watch it thrive. Plant Winterthur near your patio and enjoy that fragrance!
Viburnum have fragrant spring flowers, colorful summer berries, and lovely fall foliage. They thrive in full or part sun, but full sun produces best flowering and berries. They also prefer well-drained, slightly acidic soil. These versatile, hardy shrubs are low-maintenance and usually do not need pruning. Viburnum are usually fast-growing, making them an excellent choice for privacy screens, hedges, or as a foundational plant.
